I was out of oatmeal this morning. So as soon as I got out of the shower, I threw on my coat and trudged through the new snow to the corner Rite Aid for more. I got halfway there when I started to put my hood on. My hands brushed against my hair as they reached up for the hood, and I was horrified to find that my hair felt like sticks. Sticks!
It took me about 5 seconds. First I wondered if I had mistaken toothpaste for conditioner in the shower. No, we don’t keep toothpaste in the shower. Then a dread washed over me as I wondered if I was becoming some kind of Medusa, but instead of using my snake hair as a weapon, it would turn on me, slowly eating the flesh off of my face.
Then I realized that my wet hair was starting to freeze. Duh. Why has that never happened to me before? It was very strange.
